The Animal Welfare Society is guided by a volunteer board made up of professionals from the local community. Each member brings special skills and interests to the organization, and all work together to bring about positive changes in the lives of the thousands of animals we see each year. A shelter can only be as successful as its core staff, volunteers and the community that supports it. We are lucky to have a great community that fully endorses and supports our mission. Our staff and volunteers are also a wonderful resource that allows us to be the animal resource center that we strive to be. Our staff has many, many years of animal related experience and uses that knowledge to help the thousands of animals that they see each year.
