Featured Satellite Adoption Center
Did you know that only 18% of family pets are adopted from Animal Shelters? In an effort to give some of our adoptable pets more attention we have teamed up with retail stores in York and Cumberland Counties. These animals can be viewed at the store, and are cared for by the store staff. The adoption process is similar to at-the-shelter adoptions and, with the exception of PetSmart at Biddeford Crossing, potential adopters are required to come to the shelter to go over the adoption contract and paperwork with a trained Adoption Counselor. Please visit Thee Privileged Pet on Route 1 in York to meet Simon, he is a gem.

Thee Privileged Pet is a Boarding Facility with a Play School, Grooming, Training, and so much more.
The Animal Welfare Society will be closed on Saturday, July 4th in observance of the holiday.
WANTED: Summer Intern, unpaid, to assist with Volunteer Program. Must have strong communication and organizational skills. Call Gail at 985-3244 x 117 or email gail@animalwelfaresociety.org
Our Long Term Residents (LTR) are eager to find their forever homes, and they need your help! Give them a second look if you or someone you know is considering adding a new family member. Here are just a few of the most deserving pets you could ask for.

"Rosie"

This gorgeous girl is Rosie! She is a 10-year-old Husky/Shepherd Mix that can't wait to find a forever family to call her own. Rosie is a very sweet and lovable girl that should do just fine sharing her new home with larger dogs and gentle children. If you are interested in adopting Rosie please fill out an adoption application and stop in with your family including dogs to meet her.

Featured Adoption Success Story |

Hi -
We recently adopted Oliver and I thought you would like to see some pictures of him. He has adjusted really well to our home, and our other cat is very slowly getting used to him being around.
We were very impressed with our visit to AWS; the shelter is very well managed and the staff were courteous and professional.
Enjoy the pictures. We're very happy with Oliver, he's a very sweet and lovable boy.
Regards,
Andrea
