Spend your Sunday strolling down Mother’s Beach in Kennebunk with hundreds of other animal lovers. Bring your best friend (furry or not-so-furry!) along for the fun!

Strut Your Mutt is the single largest fundraiser for AWS each year – and due to the generosity of our underwriting sponsor, Kennebunk Savings Insurance, the entirety of the funds raised from people like you goes directly to our Sadie Fund!

The Sadie Fund has helped so many animals in their time of most need. There’s Sophie, the 8 month old Labrador who was hit by a car…there’s Lilly, a small black cat, found emaciated and clinging to life…and there’s Ava, a young mixed breed dog, requiring days of intensive care for her advanced pneumonia. And, because of people like you, Sophie, Lilly, Ava and hundreds of other animals have started their new lives with loving, adoptive families!

August and September are our busiest months at the Animal Welfare Society, imagine if you had to ensure that your 300 cats and 40 dogs don't have fleas! We are using Frontline by the gallon, but wait - they don't sell it by the gallon and we don't get a discount! BIG NEWS from AWS!

We're excited to announce that after spending more than a year with us, Princess has finally found a new home. Princess became a staple around the shelter and we'd like to wish her the best in her new home.

However, another long term resident of ours, Poe, is still available at Ann-imals even though we have waived his adoption fee! That makes no sense at all.

Poe, an eight year old cat with a handsome grey coat. Poe is an independent and curious guy who would love to find a forever home of his very own. He's rather laid-back, and should be fine sharing a home with other cats and respectful children. Visit him at Ann-imals Pet Supply Store on Route 1 in York.

"Giai"

This sweet little girl is Giai! She is an adorable five and a half month old Australian Shepherd Mix. Giai came to us all the way from South Carolina to find a forever home. She is a friendly girl and should do just fine sharing her new home with other dogs, cats and children of all ages. Most of our transfers have a $60.00 transfer fee on top of our adoption fee so, most transfer pups are $360.00 all together. In Giai's case her new family will not have to pay her $60.00 transfer fee. "Melody"

I just wanted to forward a picture of our "Miss Melody" living the good life at our camp in Acton. She has come so far from the scared little Puggle that we fell in love with that Sunday in December. She is doing so good and the people at our campground say they see a difference every week with her. She is sooooo awesome and quite the snuggler. We will be stopping by the Alfred Festival to visit and also support our favorite place, the AWS.
