- Assisting with office work (mailings, filing, etc.)

- And much, much more!
We welcome adult and junior volunteers. Teen volunteers aged 14-15 are invited to volunteer at AWS with a parent/guardian volunteering alongside them. Those aged 16-17 are welcome to volunteer individually with a parent/guardian’s consent.
We offer regular orientation sessions to showcase the many opportunities we have for volunteers. Orientations will last about an hour and will include a tour of AWS, including the adoption center, community veterinary clinic and program spaces. Interested volunteers should use the below form to register for an orientation session prior to completing a volunteer application.
We are currently seeking self-motivated, dedicated volunteers to join the animal care support team. These volunteers are needed on a weekly basis to help clean and sanitize kennels, cages, and small animal habitats. Once cleaning is complete, the volunteers set out comfort items like bedding and lots of toys and may spend time snuggling and cuddling pets.
Animal care support volunteers must be able to start at 8:30am and finish before the Adoption Center opens to the public at 11am. All training is provided. Only volunteers able to commit to the above times and tasks will be considered. As with all volunteer opportunities at AWS, volunteers must attend an orientation prior to filling out an application. Special animal care support team orientations have been scheduled below.
