Meet Jake

Meet our dear buddy Jake. He's a happy and loving hound dog who loves to take walks and be around his people and his fellow canine friends. He can't wait to find his people to dote on him and give him a warm, safe and happy home! He deserves nothing but the best and will fill his new home with snuggles, companionship and of course, the happy sounds of a hound!

Jake came to us feeling very unwell and he was significantly underweight. He is slowly putting on weight and building up his strength. He takes regular baths to help his skin and doesn't mind them. He's such a good boy! Our adoption counselors will go over Jake's medical history.

Because Jake is still receiving some medical treatments here at AWS, he is listed as a foster to adopt. That means adopter technically fosters the pet in their home to begin with, with expectations to adopt later, once his medical treatments are finished. In foster-to-adopt situations, AWS shoulders the cost and oversees any medical concerns, surgeries, and recovery periods, all while knowing the pet already has a forever home. To the pet, it’s just like they’ve been adopted and won’t know the difference. All they’ll know is love and comfort in the home before any papers are officially signed!
