The Animal Welfare Society is fortunate to have volunteers who take adoptable dogs through the obedience classes.  They also spend quality time, playing with, walking, and running the dogs. Here’s what some volunteers had to say about Diamond:

“I had the pleasure of accompanying Diamond to the Christmas Prelude Pooch Parade in Kennebunkport and I enjoyed every second of it. She was utterly amazing and as a 10 month old showed the maturity of a dog many years her age.  Diamond’s tail never stopped wagging, she greeted every dog as if they were old friends and couldn’t wait to have children pet her.  Even when six screaming children converged on her, she exhibited extreme restraint and wagged her tail and kissed anyone who put their face next to hers.  To Diamond, the entire parade route was one continuous opportunity to meet dogs and cuddle with bystanders.  At the conclusion of the parade, she went out of the way to put a smile on the faces of anyone who came up to admire and pet her. Diamond is a remarkable dog and an outstanding example of man’s best friend.  She is still young, but also very intelligent, eager to learn and would thrive in an obedience class.” Malte

“Diamond is very affectionate and obedient. She has a sleek coat and adorable face. Loves to play ‘seek the treat.'” Carla
