Nixon *transferred to Animal Refuge League*

Meet Nixon, a 2-year old Terrier Mix. Nixon is an energetic, active, exciting boy. He loves getting to run and play with his people, other dogs, or just bounding about on his own. While his favorite game is tug o’ war, he’ll do just about anything that’s fun. Nixon does like to hear his own voice sometimes, so he may not be a great dog for an apartment. He would love to share a new home with dogs and active children, though he would prefer not to live with cats. This playful pooch will certainly keep a new home entertained and energized. If Nixon sounds like the dog for you, then stop on by the shelter today to meet him.

The Animal Welfare Society is fortunate to have volunteers who take adoptable dogs through the obedience classes.  They also spend quality time, playing with, walking, and running the dogs. Here’s what some volunteers had to say about Nixon:

“I took Nixon to Shelter Dog Obedience class, and thoroughly enjoyed our time together! He is very high energy and was bouncing around in his kennel when I first met him. However, he calmed down nicely and was happy to be going outside. Nixon was easy to handle with a gentle lead, which seemed to help him focus. He was very well-behaved in a class with several other dogs, and he already knows some basic commands. He loves treats, as well as back scratches and neck massages.  Nixon is a very bright and curious little dog, with a big sparkle in his eyes. He will be the perfect companion for the right person(s)!” Susan

“Wonderful dog! Sits really well!” Shannon

“What a great little guy. Lots of energy and love to give! Would be great on hikes!” Chelsea
