The Animal Welfare Society is fortunate to have volunteers who take adoptable dogs through the obedience classes.  They also spend quality time, playing with, walking, and running the dogs. Here’s what some volunteers had to say about Rhemy:

“Rhemy and I had a great time in Shelter Dog Obedience Class today. This is one sweet, smart, and fun girl. Rhemy focuses wonderfully on both the tasks at hand and her human partner. She wears her gentle leader in style, is very treat motivated, eager to please and learn all that you teach her. Rhemy took to the agility course like a pro, going over jumps, the A frame, tables, and boardwalks. That’s a lot for a young girl like Rhemy and she did awesome. Someone will be lucky to call this girl their new best friend.” Beth V

“Rhemy is a stellar student! Though only 6 months, she is a quick learner and really excels with one-on-one AND group training. She will do almost anything for a treat, which has led to learning many new things in just a few short sessions. She sits like a pro, her focus on her handler is very good, and is already working on sit/stay, down/stay, and shake. She respects her gentle leader, but learning that pulling in a regular collar doesn’t get her very far; she’s quick to create slack in the leash when she pulls! She is confident, playful, and thrilled with any human attention she can get her happy little paws on. Could definitely see her excelling in Obedience, Rally, or even agility. What a treat she is to work with!” Laura
