Ruby 09/14

Meet Ruby, a 1-and-a-half year old American Shelter Dog. Ruby is young, fun, and full of excitement. Ruby is definitely no couch potato and would love to be in a home where she can get lots of playtime and exercise. We have observed her to be good with dogs and older, respectful children. In fact, she would really enjoy having another canine friend in her new home to play with. If Ruby sounds like the type of dog you’d like in your family, then stop on by the shelter today to meet her.

The Animal Welfare Society is fortunate to have volunteers who take adoptable dogs through the obedience classes.  They also spend quality time, playing with, walking, and running the dogs. Here’s what some volunteers had to say about Ruby:

“Although she may have hoped to find a home with her good pal Diamond, since he was adopted, Ruby has shown that she has quite a charming personality of her own.
I have taken her for a walk a few times and yesterday we went to the shelter obedience class. She already knows a lot of the basic commands and is definitely treat motivated. In addition, she is house trained so should adapt easily to a new home. She is friendly and affectionate towards people, and loves having her neck massaged. She is barely more than a pup, and has demonstrated that she has great resiliency. Come and meet this beautiful gem!” Carol
