Teddy 02/13

Meet Teddy, a 2-year old Labrador/Pit Bull Mix. As you might expect from a mix of those two breeds, Teddy is very energetic, exciting, and goofy. He’s happy-go-lucky guy who would benefit from an obedience class like the ones we offer at the shelter with discounted rates for adoptees. He does tend to jump on people to say hello or when he gets excited; something he should learn not to do. Teddy loves getting lots of playtime with his people and with any type of toy. He’s not picky, so long as he can chase it, chomp on it, or flail it about, he’ll enjoy playing with it. Teddy would be happy to share a new home with dogs and rugged children who can handle his energy. If this affectionate and super goofy fellow sounds like the one for you, then stop on by the shelter today to meet Teddy.

The Animal Welfare Society is fortunate to have volunteers who take adoptable dogs through the obedience classes.  They also spend quality time, playing with, walking, and running the dogs. Here’s what some volunteers had to say about Teddy:

“I don’t know what Teddy’s past is, but he certainly seems to be fascinated by his surroundings.  On a walk, he is thrilled by every sound he hears, whether it is the wind rustling dry leaves in a tree, the sound of feet crunching the snow, or even an airplane flying overhead.  His pure joy and excitement at sharing life with someone makes him turn around frequently on a walk and come to your side to say “thank you”.  He may be a little shy at first, but once he has your trust he can’t help but show his appreciation for being noticed.  His name is appropriate, he is indeed like a big Teddy Bear and would easily become your best friend.” Malte
