Meet Tyson, a 2-and-a-half year old Boxer Mix. Tyson can be a little timid in new surroundings and with new people, so give him a little time to adjust. Once he’s comfortable he’s a sweet and goofy guy. He loves having chew toys around that he can chomp on whenever the mood strikes him. He’s also a big fan of going for regular walks with his people. Tyson would benefit from some confidence building exercises, such as attending an obedience class like the ones we offer at the shelter with discounted rates for adoptees. Tyson would be happy to share a new home with other dogs, dog savvy cats, and older children. If this handsome fellow sounds like the one for you then stop on by the shelter today to meet Tyson.
Adoption Fee: $255
Breed: Boxer Mix
Age: 2 1/2 years
The Animal Welfare Society is fortunate to have volunteers who take adoptable dogs through the obedience classes. They also spend quality time, playing with, walking, and running the dogs. Here’s what some volunteers had to say about Tyson:
“I was happy to take Tyson to Shelter Dog Obedience class, my first time meeting this handsome boy. As expected from his profile description, he was a little timid at first but was very glad to get outside and sniff some snow (especially the yellow kind). I couldn’t have asked for a better dog! Tyson didn’t mind when I put on a gentle lead, he is easy to handle and already knows several basic commands. He responds well to treats and touch. He was curious about the many other dogs in class but not reactive to any of them. Tyson is a great dog and will make some lucky person(s) a wonderful companion!” Susan
“Enjoyed being petted and giving huge kisses (or face washes). Very sweet boy!” Carol
