At-Home Project Guide Demonstration at May Day

May 4, 2019 @ 8:00 am - 3:00 pm

*AT THE AWS TABLE IN LAFAYETTE PARK DURING THE MAY DAY FESTIVAL*

With student community service season in full swing, we offer many ways for middle and high schoolers to directly serve the animals of AWS through community service hours. Because we get so many requests and we can accommodate only a limited number of students on-site, we offer an At-Home Project Guide with ideas on how to directly help the animals right at home. Students complete projects at their leisure and then bring the projects to AWS. Each project directly supports the health and welfare of the pets at AWS, bringing them joy, comfort and enrichment while they wait to be adopted. Projects range from constructing a feral cat shelter to making no-bake dog treats and so much more. The best part about these projects – they are fun!

Want to join the fun? At-Home Project Guide demonstrations will be held during the May Day Festival at AWS Tent in Lafayette Park. Students are welcome to come by and learn how to make the various projects in the guide, including rope toys for dogs and butterfly toys for cats. Students will leave with a full copy of the guide, inspired to continue helping pets at home!
