AKC Urban CGC requires that your dog demonstrate CGC skills and beyond in a setting that includes traffic, crowds, noises, smells and other distractions that are present in a city or town. For the first week of this class students meet at the AWS training room and then each week following we will meet at a different York County locations. Past meeting spots have included downtown Kennebunk, Petsmart in Biddeford and the Seashore Trolley Museum in Kennebunkport.
To earn the AKC Urban CGC (CGCU) title, dogs must already have a Canine Good Citizen (CGC) certificate or title on record at AKC. If you do not have a CGC title you can still attend our class, but please be aware you will not be able to test for a CGCU title. Prerequisite: Graduate of a basic obedience/manners group class or permission from instructor.
