The volunteer program continues to be suspended as to reduce the number of visitors to our facility and maintain proper social distancing for our staff and animals. All volunteer orientations, programs and special events are cancelled until further notice.
Thank you so much for your interest joining our team of volunteers at the Animal Welfare Society. Volunteers provide invaluable service to our animals, programs and services. We are grateful for your interest and look forward to welcoming you to the AWS team!
Our volunteers have a wide variety of skills and expertise and we want YOU to get the most of our your time volunteering at AWS. We offer flexible schedules for volunteers and have many different opportunities at our facility and throughout our programs and services.

We welcome adult and teen volunteers. Teen volunteers aged 14-15 are invited to volunteer at AWS with a parent/guardian volunteering alongside them. Those aged 16-17 are welcome to volunteer individually with a parent/guardian’s consent. Through our Youth Programs, we offer a number of other special volunteering opportunities, including Junior Volunteers, for the youth in our community.
We offer regular orientation sessions to showcase the many opportunities we have for volunteers. Orientations will last about an hour and will include a tour of AWS, including the adoption center, community veterinary clinic and program spaces.
