All youth programs and humane education events are cancelled until further notice.
Friends, with the COVID-19 situation continuing to impact our operations and way of life, we have received many questions regarding summer camp. Will it be happening? Should I register my child now or wait? What if you cancel – can I get a refund? What safety precautions will you have in place?
While we are all dreaming of warmer weather and better times, summer is still many weeks away, so we have no conclusive answers about AWS summer camp. We are monitoring the situation closely and continue to look to the governor and animal welfare organizations for guidance. We plan to have an update for you on June 1st. As of right now, camp registration is open, and we guarantee that if camp does have to be cancelled, parents will receive a full refund.
Please note - Animal Care Intensive, our STEM-focused camp for teens, has been cancelled. We are working on some alternative and equally exciting virtual STEM programming coming this summer. Stay tuned!
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigate these very uncertain times. The safety of the pets and people – including the children – in our community remains our focus.
Day camps offer students a chance to learn about animals of all kinds, in a fun, engaging environment. Field trips and interactive presentations promote curiosity, adventure and animal advocacy.
