Now more than ever, we request your support.
We have been busy here at AWS. The Adoption Center has built more partnerships with shelters regionally and throughout the country to support more animals in need, which means even more animals will find new homes in the upcoming months thanks to people like you. It’s been wonderful to see all the happy tail-wagging going on out in the play yard as the dogs meet potential adopters.
We’re also entering kitten season, the time of year where kittens and their moms flood into the shelter. More than 1,000 kittens come through our care each year, and thanks to our network of foster families, each one gets a second chance. In foster homes, these vulnerable kittens receive daily care, socialization and a safe space where they can grow and thrive. But this lifesaving comes at a cost. Just two months of foster care, which includes food, vaccines and other essential supplies, for a single kitten can exceed $500. As costs rise and more animals depend on us, the need for support is critical.
The signs of rebirth and renewal are all around us: the snow has melted, revealing green grass and spring bulbs starting to emerge. But the renewal that our animals are counting on is your support of AWS!
We can’t do this lifesaving work without those who believe, like you, that every animal deserves a chance. A $200 donation today could cover the cost of four cat spay/neuters, helping solve the overpopulation problem at the source. A donation of $50 covers critical vaccines for 10 animals before adoption. A recurring monthly donation of just $10 covers the cost of a large bag of dog food for the dogs receiving temporary emergency sheltering in our Stay@Home program.
