It’s been six months since Moonshine (formerly Scarlet Moon) and Lovebug (formerly Jolly Rancher) joined our family. It’s hard to imagine the house without them. We quickly realized they aren’t just two cats; they are two halves of one wonderful team.
Moonshine, our gray tuxedo, started out as a bit of a mystery. She was a quiet spirit watching from the shadows, but she’s proven that the best things come to those who wait. Today, she’s traded her shyness for flops at our feet to get her favorite neck rubs and proactively hopping up to say hello. She’s still a deep thinker, but now she shares that affection freely.
As a bi-colored bundle of energy, Lovebug functions as a connector, the first to make new friends, taking the lead for each adventure and helping bring Moonshine out of the shadows. Her joy is infectious whether she’s heading up the welcoming committee, doing sunrise sprints across the bed, or collecting her toys in her secret hiding place.
Keeping them together was the best decision. Seeing their confidence grow alongside each other has been a joy. We’re grateful to their foster family, the team at AWS, and everyone who supported them. We always suspected these two were special, and every day they show us just how right we were.
