Mr. Jinx

What is it like to adopt a older diabetic cat…. It is a joy, every day. I met Mr Jinx on a wintry day. The moment we met at the Animal Welfare Society in West Kennebunk, we knew we were destined to be best friends. I then learned he needed insulin twice a day. It stopped me for a millisecond, then he gave me his calm gaze. I said let’s do this! I am a Nurse, so yes, I understand diabetes. But even if I didn’t, the staff at the shelter were wonderful on education, die, etc. Mr. Jinx has been with us for a while. It is not difficult, it is part of the routine. We also have been working with our vet friends and Mr Jinx and I are on a weight loss journey together. We are doing great ! He is happy, healthy, and brings me joy everyday! Please think about adopting an animal with special needs. They are the complete package. The joy they bring is worth the change in your routine. You will never regret it.
