Affordable Pet Care in a Modern Facility

Keeping pets happy, healthy and at home with the people who love them is an important part of our work. The AWS Community Veterinary Clinic, located right on AWS’ campus in Kennebunk, is a full-service veterinary clinic serving AWS residents and pets belonging to community members in our region.

The AWS Clinic staff is a team of caring veterinary professionals including full-time veterinarians, part-time veterinarians, licensed veterinary technicians, veterinary assistants, administrative staff, and dedicated volunteers. We offer a wide array of services and procedures to provide high-quality care to feline and canine patients. With digital x-ray, dental suite, ultrasound, diagnostic lab, two surgery suites, and an in-clinic and online pharmacy, the Clinic serves nearly every need of our patients.

We believe an individual or family’s financial standing is not an accurate reflection of their capacity to love and care for pets. As a nonprofit, we strive to keep our prices as affordable as possible.

Companion Pricing Program

For many of our services, we offer a two-tier pricing system. The discounted/low cost tier, known as the Companion program, is based on income qualifications. To qualify, clients must provide current dated documentation for one or more of the following:

  • SSI, SSDI
  • Food support (SNAP, EBT)
  • Medicaid
  • MaineCare
  • VA disability
  • WIC
  • Section 8 housing
  • and more (please ask when you make your appointment)

Documentation must be in the form of a recent dated statement or letter from the subsidy program showing you are actively receiving benefits.

Please note that the Companion program subsidized pricing is not available on every clinic service.

We accept credit card, debit card, CareCredit, Scratch Pay and cash payments. We are unable to accept EBT/MaineCare cards or personal checks. While we are unable to offer payment plans, we can direct you to national grant programs that may be able to provide financial assistance.

Appointment Scheduling

All procedures and exams must be scheduled in advance. No walk ins please. We offer public appointments Mondays – Friday from 9 am – 4 pm.

For questions or scheduling, the Clinic can be reached from 9 am – Noon and 1 pm – 5 pm, Monday – Friday, at (207) 292-2424. Please note that the Clinic is closed weekends and on all major holidays.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to high call volume, it may take a while for us to return calls to schedule non-emergency procedures or appointments (including spay/neuter surgery requests). We do receive each and every voicemail so we ask for your patience. We will respond as soon as we can.

If you have been to our Clinic before, please call us at (207) 292-2424 to schedule your pet’s appointment. Due to capacity issues, we are unfortunately currently limiting the number of clients we can take.

Please note that we are booking 6-8 weeks out for non-emergency appointments (including spay/neuter surgeries).

We are temporarily suspending second opinion consultations (dental, ultrasound/radiograph, etc), and we have limited emergency care available for referrals from other veterinarian/emergency clinics.
