Thank you so much for your interest in joining AWS’ team of dedicated and caring volunteers. Volunteers provide invaluable service to our animals, programs, services and the pet owners we help! We offer flexible schedules for volunteers and have many different ways you can make a difference!
Volunteer with the Animals
Love animals? Want to spend time with them while they wait for their new homes? We have plenty of things for you to do!
- Cleaning dog kennels
- Cleaning cat housing
- Tidying up animal spaces
- Hanging out with cats
- Walking dogs
- Visiting with small animals
- Making enrichments and toys
- And lots more!
Assist with Daily Operations
Volunteers keep our facility running smoothly each and every day. There are plenty of ways to help!
- Doing laundry
- Running errands
- Sorting donations
- Washing windows
- Helping with youth programs
- Answering telephone inquiries
- Greeting guests in the adoption center lobby
- And much, much more!
We welcome volunteers of all ages. Youth volunteers 15 years old or younger are welcome to volunteer at AWS with a parent/guardian volunteering alongside them. Those aged 16-17 are welcome to volunteer individually with a parent/guardian’s consent. Through our Youth Programs, we offer a number of other special volunteering opportunities for students in our community.
