Half Day Programs

Half Day Pet Pals

On select early release days (per the RSU21 calendar), elementary school kids (K-5) spend the afternoon in the Humane Education classroom in the Boston House (the white house at the end of Holland Rd). The Pet Pals play games, work on pet-related projects and have fun, interactive lessons in animal care and compassion. Registration is $30 per session. Half Day Pet Pals runs from noon – 4 pm: Dec 5, Feb 6, and Apr 3

Busses are available from Sea Road School and Kennebunk Elementary School. Bus 20 will drop students off at the end of Holland Road where they will be met by a member of our Humane Education team for the short walk to AWS. Because the program follows the RSU21 school calendar, it will not be held if there is a snow day.

Pizza with Pets

On select days off from school, students spend the the afternoon (Noon – 4 pm). Open to students aged 6-10. Registration is $35 and includes a pizza lunch.
Nov 21: Students celebrate Turkey Day one day early with pizza AND pets! A pizza party kicks off the fun in this afternoon of animal advocacy. Students meet animals of all kinds and give thanks by preparing special treats for the pets spending their Thanksgiving Day at AWS.
