We have a Happy Homes story for you featuring a small, scruffy dog named Troy, now named Loon! You may remember Loon from our last group of transport dogs who traveled all the way to Maine looking for their happy homes. Now that Loon has found his, he is absolutely loving being part of a New England family! With mountains to hike, trails to explore, and all the new sights and sounds, Loon`s family couldn`t wait to share all his amazing pictures with us. And trust us, these photos are worth a thousand words!
"Loon, formally known as Troy, had his first hike today thanks to you guys and he LOVED it! Thanks for the amazing pupper!"
If you`d like to share your pet adoption story with us and keep us up to date on what your furry, feathered, or scaly friend is doing now, please check out the Happy Homes page on our website. We love hearing from you!
Join us TODAY to march behind the AWS van for Kennebunk`s annual May Day Parade! There will be volunteers, adopters, and lots of friendly canines! Participating children get a free sticker and backpack (while supplies last), and are encouraged to bring a stuffed animal or their family dog!
If you wish to march with us, no need to register in advance! Simply come on down to Kennebunk on Water Street and look for our colorful van. Line-up starts at 12:30pm and the parade kicks off at 1:30pm. See you there!
In today`s modern world, technology really makes a difference when getting pets adopted. In our newest blog post, learn how you can use simple technology (like your cellphone!) as an AWS foster or volunteer to help get our resident pets into their happy homes. *Hint: it involves selfies!*

Bowie, who works alongside his mom in our Youth Programs, is a friendly, fun, and outgoing guy who takes his job very seriously. And recently, Bowie has been put in charge of leading a parade!
