Classes & Programs

Led by an experienced team of certified professional dog trainers, AWS’ Canine Training program offers a variety of exciting and progressive group classes, individualized consultations and programs for pups of all ages, breeds and abilities.

Thank you for training with AWS!

Puppy Classes

For puppies 8-19 weeks old at the start of class. If your new puppy will be older than 19 weeks when the class is set to begin, please enroll in Basic Training instead.

Puppy Kindergarten

Puppy Kindergarten focuses on safe socialization, confidence building and positive reinforcement training. Learn how to manage and prevent problem puppy behaviors such as puppy biting and house training. Start building your puppy’s skills in loose leash walking, recall, sit, leave-it and more.

Note: Safe and appropriate play is important for young puppies to experience. Because of this, our in-class playtime will depend on the dynamic of the puppies in each class and is not guaranteed. It is at the trainer’s discretion. Puppies need to have had their first round of shots and a negative fecal sample in order to start the class.

Puppy Kindergarten classes last 45 minutes and run for 4 weeks. For puppies 8-19 weeks old at the start of class.

Beginner Classes

For dogs 5 months and older, Basic Training builds the foundation for all future training.

Basic Training

Basic Training class is the place to start your training journey if you have an adolescent or adult dog. Through positive reinforcement, teams will learn and practice polite behaviors such as sit, down, stay and loose leash walking all while ignoring distractions. Even if your dog knows all the basic cues, there are still many reasons to begin with a Basic Training class. Not only will have a chance to practice around real world distractions, but you will strengthen your relationship with your dog and have fun doing it!

Basic Training classes last 45 minutes and run for 6 weeks. For dogs 5 months and older.

You may notice signs of dental disease as physical changes in your pet: yellow teeth, bad breath, bleeding gums, or problems chewing. But did you know that dental discomfort can also manifest as behavioral as well? Look for changes in your pet's behavior such as hiding, not wanting to be touched by the mouth, growling, hissing, or even nipping. These could be signs that your pet is in pain and needs a dental checkup!

Our Community Clinic is offering a special dental care package to all families who have or call to set up dental appointments for their pet in the month of February (while supplies last.) 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗰 𝗮𝘁 (𝟮𝟬𝟳) 𝟮𝟵𝟮-𝟮𝟰𝟮𝟰 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗲𝘁’𝘀 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁.

Just like dogs or cats, rabbits play by tossing or pushing objects around with their mouths and chasing after them. When they're really playful, rabbits like to skip and race around their house or playpen like a kid who's had too much sugar. They jump on and off of things and like to run through tunnels or burrow through blankets. If you're lucky, your rabbit might even do a 'binky!' This is when they run and jump and kick out their back legs in excitement. Rabbits really are a joy to watch and play with when they're happy!

Adorable sisters Daisy and Rose really are a prime example of happy bunnies! They love to play with each other and throw their toys around. They also are very curious and are always racing around when someone comes to visit. They will make wonderful companions to their new people!

Brushing your pet's teeth every day will promote good oral health and prevent potentially expensive procedures down the road. Plus, it’s easier than you may think! There are even pet-specific brushes and toothpastes designed for dogs and cats. The accumulation of plaque and tartar can also be prevented by feeding your pet a special dental diet—food that’s specifically designed to help preserve oral health.
