We adopted Navea (now Ellie) in December of 2022. We wanted to add a new member to our little family and we were the first ones to meet her at AWS. She is such a ham! She doesn’t know how to sit “normally” so she sits like she is in the picture with her back legs out. She also loves laying down with frog legs on full display. She enjoys going on walks and hikes, going to the dog park, swimming, playing fetch, and cuddling on the couch.

Did you know that we have a resident Goldendoodle here at AWS? Bowie, who works alongside his mom in our Youth Programs, is a friendly, fun, and outgoing guy who takes his job very seriously. He listens to stories during Rescue Readers, entertains children during Furry Tales, and educates students during Muttigrees... all with a wagging tail! And recently, Bowie has been put in charge of leading a parade!
Join us this Saturday, May 4 on Water Street in downtown Kennebunk for their annual May Day parade! Bowie, who will be walking next to his mom Miss Amanda, will be sporting a bowtie and encouraging children and their families to march with AWS! Participating kids will receive a sticker and a new cloth backpack. Lineup starts at 12:30 pm, and the parade kicks off at 1:30pm. Bowie hopes to see you there!
