Sadie & Briar now Sadie & Piper

We lost our 11 year old cat to kidney failure and our 18 year old cat, Ted, was very depressed. We thought if he had a purpose again, like taking care of someone, that he would feel better. We came in and adopted Piper first (formerly Briar – striped) but she was scared and hid that first night. The next day, we came back and got Sadie (tuxedo) and she helped Piper come out of her shell.

We kept the “girls” separated from Ted for about five days with a slow introduction, though Sadie just wanted to be friends the first day. It did not take long for both girls to love Ted and he them. He’s much better, having put on weight and is back to his old personality. He loves the girls but Piper appears to be his favorite. The best thing we ever did was adopt the girls and long after Ted is gone, they will still have each other. Your adoption process is easy and really changed our lives after such a devastating loss for us. And Ted says thank you too <3
