Suz Madore is AWS’s Marketing Communications Manager, bringing 15 years of marketing and communications experience and a longstanding personal commitment to animal welfare. In her role, Suz is focused on presenting a unified voice and vision for AWS — one that reflects the organization’s mission and deepens its connection to the community it serves.
Most recently, Suz worked in agency settings, leading marketing and communications efforts across a wide range of industries, including transportation and logistics, nonprofits, biotechnology, IT services, and food and beverage. Alongside her professional career, she spent a decade volunteering with the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland, an experience that has shaped her understanding of the vital role organizations like AWS play in the lives of animals and the people who love them. She is also a trained animal end-of-life doula. After losing her own dog unexpectedly, she channeled her grief into helping others say goodbye to the animals they love.
Suz holds a Master of Science in Digital Marketing and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography, a combination that reflects her belief that great storytelling is both a science and an art.
Away from her desk, Suz is most likely in her ever-expanding summer garden, somewhere dancing to live music, or deep in a book — Goodreads goals don’t meet themselves. She lives in Saco, Maine, with her husband, five massive goldfish and two rescue dogs.
