We love our youngest donors! This sweet girl and her family recently donated a whole stack of homemade cat beds for our resident feline friends to enjoy. It always warms our hearts when children work to make a difference in their community and better the lives of the people (and animals!) around them. From all of us at AWS, thank you!! ❤
Did you know you can take our resident dogs out on dates?! Our Dog Date Program is unique for each dog and gives them time away from the Adoption Center to have a fun outing in the community.

Types of dates can include:
✔️ A Quick Ice-cream Date
✔️ A Half-Day Adventure
✔️ A Leisurely Lunch Date
✔️A Daylong Field Trip
✔️ An overnight sleepover
✔️ A Weekend Getaway

Our Dog Date program runs 7 days a week, though date scheduling is dependent on our dog population at any given time. Here, you can see Kenai enjoyed his ice-cream date with our short-term foster and was so happy afterwards, he took a nap all afternoon!

Sign up to be a dog date foster on our website and help our pups have a fun-filled summer before they find their happy homes!
It's guinea pigs galore over here! We have so many cute cavies who are looking for their happy new homes. Some are bonded, some are single, but all are full of love and ready to be your new best friend(s)!

What makes guinea pigs such great pets? We're so glad you asked!

➼ Guinea pigs are herd animals and therefore are known to form tight social bonds. They love not only other pigs, but their human companions as well!
➼ Guinea pigs are known for being gentle and calm and while they have a silly side, they love being cuddled and often show their affection through purring and head nudges.
➼ Guinea pigs love to interact and converse! They communicate through a unique language of wheeks and chirps and will often start talking when their humans enter the room.
➼ Guinea pigs are relatively easy to care for. While every pet requires time, attention and care, cavies are generally clean, healthy, and sturdy animals. They just want your love!
