Roberta Guertin, CPDT-KA

Behavior & Training Manager

Roberta Guertin began as an AWS volunteer in 2010 and came on board as an animal care technician in 2015. Her interest in dog training started at home with her fearful shih-tzu and grew throughout her time at AWS. She was mentored by Kim VanSickle at AWS and job shadowed multiple trainers to learn the profession. Roberta earned her certification as a professional dog trainer (CPDT-KA) in 2017 and became the AWS Behavior and Training Program Manager in 2022. Under Roberta’s leadership, the department has grown to offer more private lessons, specialized classes, and a variety of drop-in programs and workshops.
