Wicca

I wanted to give you all an update on Wicca, the Moluccan cockatoo that we adopted from you this summer. She’s doing wonderfully! It’s taken her some time to get comfortable in her new home, but now that she feels safe and secure with us, she’s thriving. She’s a funny combination of the sweetest bird we’ve ever met and a total diva! She loves attention- every once in awhile she’ll scream and stomp her foot if it’s been too long since anyone has paid attention to her (and being in the same room doesn’t count; she likes us to comment on her beauty and general awesomeness frequently!). She’s a fabulous bird ambassador because she’s so darn sweet and gentle. She loves everyone in the household and is perfectly happy spending time with anyone. She and our Macaw, Harley, are slowly but surely becoming friends. Wicca’s still intimidated by Harley, but they spend a lot of time playing near each other and they’re getting closer and closer to each other without fear. We’re hopeful that they’ll be best friends someday. We’re so thankful that you allowed us to adopt Wicca. She’s been a wonderful addition to our family. Our house gets a little loud and crazy sometimes, but we wouldn’t trade it for anything. I’m sure there are times when you question what you do and why (I get it, I work in psychiatry!), so I wanted to give you a reminder that you are appreciated. Wicca has brought so much joy into our lives and I think she feels just as happy to be with us. Thank you for doing what you do!
