We got our lovely dog Ben back in December of 2017 at your shelter. We used to volunteer a lot when my kids were little. We came in to walk the dogs and stay/pet the cats. My kids are now 24 and 27.
They felt that I needed a dog to keep me company due to the home becoming empty. My kids purchased this dog for me as a Christmas gift. We came to visit the kennel and saw a few puppies. My daughter and son were like mamma which one do you like. At the time was not sure of getting a puppy. They were all so cute the puppies/dogs.
We played with Ben in one of the rooms and my kids’ were like mamma what about this one. I said OMG so cute, but how big will he get. We were told mixed breed.
Ben is now 7 years old. Love him so much Ben is part of our family. He is great with other dogs and love peoples. Ben is a mix, per ancestry, of Pitbull, boxer, chow chow and lab. What a mix. We love him and so does the extended family.
We hope to get another dog within the next few months whether it be at AWS or elsewhere, you guys were great in handling us with getting our handsome Ben.
