Virgil appeared on the AWS web page in 2019 and it was love at first sight. He has made himself at home and explored every closet, he greets visitors at the door and he is fearless. As a tuxedo cat he is always dressed to impress. When he wants attention he climbs on my lap and purrs. He is smart, funny, mischievous and curious. When I come home he runs to greet me, rolls over to show off his white tummy and then walks slowly in front of me, he is the gatekeeper. Thank you for helping him find his way into my life.

You told us - Dogs are the Best Buddies and GivingTuesday champs! Our canine companions have won the eighth annual AWS GivingTuesday competition by a landslide. Team #awsdog brought in more than $4,000 more than Team #awscat! Wow!

While team #awsdog is celebrating their big win (after losing to team #awscat last year), all of us here at AWS is celebrating the support from our community. Amazingly, you all raised $17,904 in one day! This incredible sum will go provide for the dogs, cats and small animals in AWS’ care this time of year. We can’t thank our community enough for their kindness and generosity, not just on GivingTuesday but throughout the season of giving.If you gave to either team on GivingTuesday, we greatly appreciate your support!
