Just checking in to let you know we are head over heals in love with this little creature! He’s so funny, a little strange, sort of quirky, and sleeps in the strangest positions! Feet straight out the back! My sweet tabby cat has been hissing at William, but he could could care less! He just keeps walking on by without a care in the world! Eventually they will be best friends.
Thank you for letting us adopt this little man. He is going to have a wonderful life with us.

Did you know that we have a resident Goldendoodle here at AWS? Bowie, who works alongside his mom in our Youth Programs, is a friendly, fun, and outgoing guy who takes his job very seriously. He listens to stories during Rescue Readers, entertains children during Furry Tales, and educates students during Muttigrees... all with a wagging tail! And recently, Bowie has been put in charge of leading a parade!
Join us this Saturday, May 4 on Water Street in downtown Kennebunk for their annual May Day parade! Bowie, who will be walking next to his mom Miss Amanda, will be sporting a bowtie and encouraging children and their families to march with AWS! Participating kids will receive a sticker and a new cloth backpack. Lineup starts at 12:30 pm, and the parade kicks off at 1:30pm. Bowie hopes to see you there!

It goes without saying that today is one of our favorite days of the year! National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day was created to bring awareness to the millions of pets nationwide who are waiting for their happy homes. Here at AWS, we have so many wet noses, wagging tails, and twitching whiskers who are patiently waiting for their perfect people, and today seems like the perfect day to make their dreams come true! Help us celebrate and change the lives of our pets forever by adopting today, tomorrow, or sometime soon!

Calling all local families and lovers of parades! @awsyouth has a new fun and family-oriented program that’s marching its way to you: Youth Parade Brigade! March with Youth Programs Coordinator, Miss Amanda, and her resident doodle puppy, Bowie, behind the AWS van during the local community parades!
The first upcoming Youth Parade Brigade will be happening Saturday, May 4th in downtown Kennebunk in celebration of May Day! The Brigade will begin to meet at 12:30pm on Water Street in Kennebunk and start to lineup in preparation for the parade to march at 1:30pm. Make sure to look for our colorful AWS van!
