Foster Young, Active Dogs

If you’ve been waiting for the perfect opportunity to try fostering a pet, especially young, active dogs (yes, that includes puppies), now is the time!

AWS is looking to sign on a few more foster families for short-term fostering (no more than 2 weeks; usually closer to 1 week). Short-term fosters are especially needed for puppies and young, active dogs.

  • Bring puppy love into your life! Foster a puppy (or a few) in your home while we get them ready for adoption.
  • Give a dog a little break! Adoptable dogs appreciate time away from the kennels here at AWS.
  • Take home a foster dog for your dog! Some of our dogs are really shy and would love to spend a few nights with another dog to help them gain confidence and come out of their shell.

Because each dog is unique, each foster home is unique. There is no one-size-fits-all requirement for fostering at AWS. We welcome pet lovers from all kinds of families, homes and lifestyles. To learn more, please visit our dedicated foster page. You may also send an email or give our Foster Coordinator a call at (207) 985-3244 ext. 115.
