Hi everyone, my name is Nitro and it’s so great to meet you all. I am a young Coonhound at AWS waiting to find my new home. One thing about me that is very common to my breed is that I let my nose take the lead! I am on the scent for my new family and I can’t wait to see where my next adventure takes me. So, for this week’s Pet of the Week, hear all about how Nitro’s sniffing out a new home!
Letting My Nose Lead Me
As I mentioned before, I like to follow my nose wherever it takes me! And trust me, it usually leads to something interesting. Walks aren’t just exercise for me, they’re full on adventures filled with new scents to explore and trails to investigate. Every walk is a chance to discover something new, and I like to make sure I don’t miss a thing! I like to think I turn every walk into a great exploration, letting my nose lead the way.

Sniffing Out Some Snuggles
Once I’ve had my time exploring and putting my nose to work, I’m more than happy to settle in and enjoy some quiet time. I’ve got a soft, affectionate side and love being close to my people once I feel comfortable. As you can see, I like to think your personal space is also mine and am not afraid to cuddle right up to you! A cozy spot, some gentle pets and a chance to relax together? That’s my kind of reward after a good adventure!
Sniffing Out a New Home
While I love walks and snuggles, my ultimate goal is to sniff out a new home! I’m looking for a home where I can be my silly self. I’m curious, active and always ready to explore. I’d definitely enjoy a family who likes the outdoors and understands that I love to sniff everything I can! I like to think that I’m a loyal companion since I love spending time with my people, including kids. If you’re ready for a sidekick who will keep life interesting (and well-sniffed), I think we’d be a great match!

So, if now that you’ve learned all about how Nitro’s sniffing out a new home, are you the match for me? If you or someone you know is interested in adopting, come by the Adoption Center or call (207) 985-3244 and ask for me!
