Why Adopt a Senior Cat?

Hi all, my name is Little Kitty. You may hear the words “senior cat” and think of a cat who will sleep all day in a rocking chair somewhere. That’s not me. While I may be 10 years old, I still love exploring outside, soaking up the sunshine and coming back in for snacks and naps afterward. I may be a senior cat, but I’ve still got plenty of personality, energy and love left to give!

Senior Cats Already Know the Basics

Kittens are cute, sure, I was once one! But they’re also tiny tornadoes with absolutely no understanding of personal space, or how fragile your belongings are. Senior cats like me already know how to live in a home. We’re usually litter box trained, settled into our personalities and much easier to understand. What you see is what you get, and that makes finding the right match easier for you as well! I know I enjoy affection, fresh air, exploring and relaxing with my people. No mystery, no chaos, just a good time!

We Still Love to Play and Explore

Being a senior cat doesn’t mean we stop having fun. I still like to spend time outside, checking out my surroundings and staying active. Plenty of older cats still like toys, playtime, climbing cat trees or following their humans around the house like little supervisors. We may not bounce off the walls, but we still enjoy life! Just with a little more experience and a lot better judgement.

Adopt a Senior Cat

Senior cats like myself often wait longer to be adopted than kittens or younger cats. But we still have so much left to give! When someone chooses a senior cat, they’re giving us comfort, stability and a fresh start to spend our golden years. And in return, we give companionship, affection and gratitude every single day. If you ask me, that sounds like a pretty great deal!
