Hi there, folks! My name is Karhu (pronounced like kaar·hoo) and I am a new face around here at AWS. I`m a very friendly, happy, and outgoing kind of guy. I guess that`s why my friends asked me to be the newest featured pet on the blog!
To be honest, though, I’m actually here on behalf of all my fellow canines to talk about a little event known as 𝐆𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲, which is happening tomorrow on November 28! You see, every Giving Tuesday the pets here at AWS lovingly compete to see which species can win the day by getting the most donations for either Team #awsdog or Team #awscat. I’m obviously on Team #awsdog because let’s face, cats drool. But either way, I’m here to spread the word and help the animals of AWS get donations no matter what team they may root for!
You see, Giving Tuesday all started with a simple idea: a day dedicated to doing good. Whether it’s sharing a smile with someone (which I am really good at!), helping a neighbor out, standing up for an important cause, or giving a little of what we have to others, everyone has something to give on Giving Tuesday. This year, no matter which team you want to win, I hope that you will donate so that all the animals of AWS can continue to stay safe, happy, and healthy. We couldn`t do it without you!

The cats and dogs at AWS are ready for another friendly competition this Giving Tuesday on November, 28! Who will win?This year`s competition centers around which species is the Coziest Companion: Cats or Canines? Throughout the day on Giving Tuesday, follow along on our social media pages as the pets and people of AWS try to convince you which of their favorite species deserves your support as the coziest, cuddliest animal.
Remember, the team who raises the most funds on Tuesday will be crowned this year’s Giving Tuesday winner. Most importantly, all funds raised in this friendly competition support pet care here at AWS. We look forward to seeing which pet comes out on top as the coziest companion!

Does your dog or cat need an updated rabies vaccine or microchip? Come visit us on Saturday, December 2 from 9am - Noon to receive either or both for FREE! We`re here to help the people and pets of our community stay happy and healthy!

Now that Thanksgiving is over, it`s time to start thinking about the ho-ho-holidays! Here at AWS, our Training Team is excited to kick-off the season with their annual Reindeer Games! Whether your dog is the littlest elf in Santa’s workshop or if they have been pulling the sleigh for years, these holiday themed training classes are sure to keep your pup on Santa’s nice list!
