Cleaning Volunteers Needed!

You’d like to volunteer with animals? Great! You’ve come to the right place. The staff and pets at Animal Welfare Society would love your help daily, cleaning and sanitizing our animal spaces. Therefore, we are accepting volunteers only for this specific “jobs” on very specific days right now. Please take a look at our needs and if they match up with your schedule, please apply to be a cleaning volunteer!

So what is our biggest volunteer need right now?

Cleaning!

Did you know that every single animal space at AWS gets cleaned and sanitized every single day? 100 pets in residence means 100 cages, kennels and rooms cleaned and sanitized every single morning. More pets – more spaces to clean. Cleaning is not just a quick hose down, it’s a thorough scrubbing using specially formulated cleaning supplies and protocols. Every pet deserves a clean and comfortable place to stay, don’t you think?

And don’t worry, all of our cleaning positions come with the chance to enjoy time with the pets, after the cleaning duties are done. Our pet population and their schedules change daily so we can’t guarantee you’ll be able to play with puppies or cuddle with kittens. No matter what, you will certainly be able to enrich the lives of the animals in our care! After cleaning, there is always time to spend time with the animals and to provide enrichment activities to keep their minds and bodies occupied while they are with us.

To make a difference today, become a cleaning volunteer!

We have openings every day of the week in specific areas – including dog kennels, cat rooms and small animal habitats. We welcome individuals, couples or families as volunteers. Youth 15 and younger can volunteer with a parent/guardian alongside them. We provide all the equipment volunteers need. Before you begin, we’ll give you a special training to show you exactly what you need to know.
