Event Series Event Series: Draw Live Animals

Draw Live Animals

June 26 @ 9:00 am 12:00 pm

Students in grades 6+, join Miss Amanda and professional artist, Piper Castles, from River Tree Arts for some artistic, animal fun! In this camp, children will focus on core skills of drawing while observing live pets here at AWS. Students will build their drawing skill set from the ground up, starting with line of action, building up shapes, learning to check for accuracy by measuring, and adding value and details. Drawing skills are the basis for all art, and learning to draw from life is so much fun!

50% of proceeds come directly to AWS!
River Tree Members: $235 | Non-Members: $260 (all supplies included!)

Rabbits are social animals that thrive on companionship. Because they instinctively enjoy living in groups or in pairs, rabbits form strong bonds with their humans and genuinely enjoy being around them. When you gain a rabbits trust, like 𝐁𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲, they don't even mind being picked up or handled. Like a dog or cat, rabbits are loyal, loving, and snuggly companions!

We're celebrating Rabbit Awareness Week all week long! Check out our available bunnies, like 𝐁𝐞𝐚𝐧, and consider Adopting or Fostering for us to make room for more rabbits looking for homes. We couldn't do it without you!

Rabbits are best known for their large ears, like adoptable rabbit Mama Bunny here. But did you know that they can rotate those ears about 180 degrees? This means they can usually pinpoint the exact location that a sound is coming from. On top of this, a rabbit uses their ears to cool down and regulate their body temperature. The large surface area of their ears actually radiates away any excess heat!
