When we first met Duchess at AWS she was not what I expected. She showed her absolute naughty side jumping on the counter and knocking over the trash cans, not really giving us any attention. Plus, she needed ACL surgery within a month as part of her adoption. A LOT for a new addition. She barked at me for that first month, she ran away for five hours, proving that her nickname Houdini fit her (thankfully returning to the door on her own). BUT coming up to having her a year BEST decision ever. She is sweet, loyal, mostly obedient, is protector of the chickens and is the official grocery bag and box inspector of the house. She has discovered squeaky toys, but still believes that I should fetch the ball for her. With her history, we may have brought her home, but she chose us. I totally understand what big dog love is all about. I love her good morning tail wags, she starts every day with so much happiness. I am so happy that I saw her that Saturday morning.
Thank you AWS for all your help as Duchess has continued to be a mischievous lady. We will continue to love and care for her.
