Monroe the Library Cat

Hello all you humans! My name is Monroe and I’m a friendly, playful, and handsome silver cat (if I do say so myself) who is ready to find my happy home! I’m currently soaking up the sunshine from my personal chair at the Kennebunk Free Library here in Kennebunk. They often foster cats like me from AWS who are outgoing, friendly, and love attention. I guess you could say I’ve become a real library lover now that I’ve been here. Just call me Monroe the library cat!

A Little About Me

Since March is National Reading Month, I figured I would share a little information about myself for you all to read. I mean, on top of the fact that I’m a cat who learned how to type on a compurrrter, I’ve got so many amazing qualities!

  • I’m eleven years young and definitely don’t act my age! I love to play and roll around and chase after toys. Plus, aging has only made me more handsome!
  • I’m a classic extrovert who loves people and makes friends wherever I go. I used to live in a house with children and adored their company very much. I wouldn’t mind going home to a big family!
  • I’m curious and am an avid explorer. I love to crawl into every nook and cranny to find my next big adventure. Perhaps I can get a tour of your home soon?!
  • Finally, I’m a total love-bug. I will make biscuits wherever you drop me, and I can never have enough head and back scratches. I will be your ultimate cuddling companion!

If you’re interested in learning more about me, don’t be shy! Stop by the Kennebunk Free Library today and say hello. I promise I will be right at the doors to greet you. Just ask for Monroe the library cat!

Some Kind Words

Speaking of the library, KFL is a wonderful place to stay and has been so much fun to explore! I love saying hello to everyone who comes and goes and they have such big, beautiful windows to look out of. People, dogs, birds, cars… I see them all go by and I dream of the day where I can sunbathe in my own window at my own home. The lovely people of of the library have been so good to me and I cherish their friendship, but I long for a family to love! In the meantime, my friends here have had so many kind words to say about me!

“Monroe is an 11-year-old wonder of a cat. He arrived at the library and hopped out of his carrier and immediately started rubbing against everyone’s legs and batting around his new toys. He is energetic, curious, and friendly, and took no time at all to feel comfortable in his new space. He is such a charmer; we don’t think it will be long at all before he finds his forever home!”
