Book Buddies, AWS’ Book Club for Kids

Due to the local school district’s shift to remote learning, AWS Youth Programs will no longer take place in-person until further notice.

Book Buddies Book Club is open to our elementary school aged friends who love reading about animals. Book Buddies read together, create new group of literacy loving friends and learn more about how we can advocate for pets in need!

Book Buddies meet weekly for four weeks for book-related fun and lively discussions. Meetings take place in person, virtually or a combination of the two!

(AWS Youth Programs follow the RSU21 (Kennebunk) school calendar. If there is a snow day or if the district shifts to remote learning, AWS programs will not take place in-person and Book Buddies will shift to Zoom for all participants.)

During each club meeting, we will

  • take turns reading out loud
  • discuss what we are learning
  • do a fun activity together

The book we will read together is provided to each registered student at no cost* and is theirs to keep.

*Book Buddies is free thanks to the generosity of our donors, who provide funds to purchase books and supplies for each session. As a thank you, each session is named after the donor’s pet. To learn more about how you can sponsor a session of Book Buddies, please contact our Development Team.
