Perfect Piper

Hello friends! My name is Piper and it’s a real pleasure to meet you! I’m two years old and looking for my new, happy home. I’ve been at AWS for almost three months now and I think it’s about time that I got my happy ending. Don’t you think so, too?! That’s why when my friends here asked if I wanted to be featured on the blog, I barked a big ‘yes!’ After all, a good girl like me deserves a loving home. They don’t call me perfect Piper for nothing! I’m excited to share my story so I hope you’re ready to listen. I would greatly appreciate any shares, likes, and comments! (That’s right… I know how to play the game!)

The Begging

I first arrived at AWS on the very first day of June. My previous family was wonderful, but could no longer care for me. At first, I was very confused, scared, and anxious; I’ll admit I didn’t act my best self. New people made me nervous and the staff here struggled to keep me happy and engaged. I was far from the ‘perfect Piper’ everyone calls me now!

After about a month, however, I started to feel a real change. Thanks to the kind, dedicated, and patient work of my human friends, I started to blossom into myself again. I opened up to new people, went on longer walks, and even played with some canine companions. Everyone saw how much I loved to splash in water, chase my toys, and receive belly rubs. I even was approved to go out on Doggy Dates! Before long, my face was everywhere and I thought it was only a matter of time before I found my happy home.

The Middle

Fast forward to today and I’m still in the middle of my story, patiently waiting for my family. Of course I still have my ups and downs, but I’ve really earned my title of ‘perfect Piper.’ I’m currently in foster care where I have learned to trust even more people and really living my best life. I go walking, hiking, or jogging all the time, and every day is a new adventure. I’m a real outdoorsman so getting out during the beautiful summer is definitely my cup of tea. I’m so grateful to my fosters and to AWS!

They call me ‘free-spirited’, a ‘puppy-at-heart’ and (my favorite) ‘goofy.’ All those things are definitely true, but I can still be shy and introverted at times. Hey, I can’t be perfect all the time! Because of this, I know I would prefer a home without small children or cats. They can both be unpredictable sometimes and I really want to focus on being the best canine companion I can be. After all, I want my new family to know that I will be there for them as the best version of myself as possible. I know I can do it. I mean, look how far I’ve already come!

The End

As for the end of my tale, well that’s really up to you! I can’t earn my happy ending until I get adopted into a loving family like yours. I’ve gone from frightened and afraid, to happy and eager, to now hopeful and patient. I know my family is out there somewhere and I want them to know that I’m here. I’ve watched countless friends of mine get adopted and I can’t help but think “when will it be my turn?” The ending of one’s story is always the hardest to write, but I know it will be worth it if we can write it together.

So, as summer slowly shifts into fall, I can’t help but shift as well. I’ve done a lot of changing over the last three months, but now it’s time to change into who I was really meant to be: a family dog. Perfect Piper means, to me, that I will be loyal, loving, and kind. I will let my silly side loose, have fun, and enjoy life. The only thing that could possibly make it even more perfect is if my family was there beside me. So, what do you think? Ready to turn ‘perfect Piper’ into the best family dog ever?! Please give my friends here a call at (207) 985-3244 and they’ll set up an appointment with my foster to come and meet you. I simply cannot wait for the good news!!
