Youshi now Yoshi

Hi there…
I love Sun Conures.
So back in Feb. 2022, I received an alert email from “Adopt-A-Pet” saying there was a 5 year old Sun Conure at AWS (about 20 minutes away from where I live) in need of a forever home. His name was Youshi. (I changed the spelling of his name to Yoshi, which sounds the same.)
I’m thinking “He’s that close by… and needs a home? Count me in!”
So the next day, I drove over there to see him and of course, I fell in love. I will say that it’s not been all sunshine and roses with Yoshi…
He has had a bad habit of biting, so he’s been a constant work in progress. And we’ve made progress. I always reward him for doing good things and that helps. And lots of patience. Despite his “shortcomings” I love him and he shows his love to me. He melts my heart when he climbs up on his own into my lap, up onto my shoulder and snuggles into my neck to fall asleep. He has learned to love head scratches as well, which he didn’t like when I first brought him home. All I can say is he is very sweet when he wants to be! ❤️
