Join Duke on a Pack Walk
Hey everyone, my name is Duke and it’s so nice to meet you. As a resident dog here at AWS, it’s so great when we can join Canine Training for fun programs and classes like a Pack Walk! This week I was able to follow along with some training students and their canine companions on AWS property and trails for some fun socializing and learning.

Pack Walk = New Friends
While I wait to meet my new family, joining the Pop-Up: Pack Walk with AWS’ Canine Training program is a great wait for me to spend time outside and meet new friends! I’m a pretty laidback and relaxed guy, so I find it easy to get along with most people and their canine companions. Getting to make new friends, human and dog, is an extra fun way to spend time during the day!
Putting My Brain to Work
Another great part of joining the Pack Walk is that it’s led by an experienced trainer at AWS! So along with some quality exercise and socialization, we get to learn along the way. While my agility days may be well in my past, I won’t turn down honing in some basic skills when there’s treats involved! Just be weary of the slobber!
Each Walk is Different
What makes the Pack Walk’s so great is that each one is different! While I joined the group for a fun walk outdoors, the next group could do something completely new. Your group could explore wooded trails, try out agility equipment, practice doggy parkour at the playground, or visit the tennis court, ball field and community garden. So, the next time I join a Pack Walk, it could be another uniquely fun experience that you could come along for with your pup!
Let’s Make our Walks Permanent
Now that I’ve told you about how much fun I had on the Pack Walk, let me tell you about me! I’m a pretty easy-going guy who’s looking for a nice, quiet home to relax in. Like I said before, while my agility days are past me, I do love my treats! While I may get a little slobbery, it’s all part of the love I share with my people.
If you or someone you know is interested in adopting Duke, come by the Adoption Center or give us a call at (207) 985-3244. Be sure to check out our Canine Training page for any upcoming classes or programs, including Pack Walks! (Like the upcoming Agility Pack Walk next week!!!)
